Goodness! You don’t know how much I would want this. I’m young, and just starting in this beautiful world of sewing, creating patterns, and designing. The lack of pattern magazines/books in my country is unbelievable. These would be just perfect for me and my mom who helps me

Thank you Sarai! I just discovered your fashionable blog thanks to her mention of it in The Colette Sewing Handbook. I can’t wait to hit your archives, but this contest stopped me dead in my tracks. I do have a Pattern Magic book, but sadly I have found it very difficult to use due to the language barrior. Sake is about as much Japanese as I speak. So, you had me at “And to boot they’ve been translated into English!” Either copy would have a lovely home here with lots of other sewing book siblings to keep her company. Thanks!

I’m a beginning seamstress and so far all of my projects have been for the Fashion Design competition at my school, but I really want to start making my own clothes so that I can honestly get more experience and look good while doing it. I think that these books would really help give me that boost that I need!

*eeek* i need these in my life. I’ve been currently learning on how to make and manipulate slopers.. plus big fan of japanese designs.

I find the creativity of these books so fascinating. It almost doesn’t matter whether the designs are wearable or not (though I’m sure I can find a few that I would wear). I think of them as exercises in pattern manipulation and thinking outside the box.

My first book of Japanese pattern book name “Dress Making” that I bought when I was living in Vietnam was in 1965,
I have learned to make my own pattern and have been sewing and designing since then, now that I live in the US, I really missed all that.

I am addicted to buying fabric and patterns. I love the Japanese inspired styles.

I tumble on this website during my lunch hour …and submitted this …you never know…I may be lucky !!!
