Hey fellow sewalongers! I’m just popping in with an update for you – yesterday a wonderful commenter left news of a sale for Simplicity patterns happening now at Joann. Can you say $1.99? Yup! This means that you can get Simplicity 1880 for less than the price of a candy bar! The offer is in store only, but hey if you haven’t picked up a pattern yet, go NOW! The sale ends this coming Saturday, June 16.
For those of you who don’t live in the US or near a Joann, drop me a line because if you pulled my leg hard enough (ok, ok not really hard at all) I would totally be willing to go and pick up Simplicity 1880 (this pattern only please) for you and ship it to you too. Just email me: sunni@afashionablestitch.com. Update 6/14/2012 Hey everyone! I’ve got two Simplicity 1880′s left and they are both size 4 – 12. First come first serve! I want everyone to have the opportunity to participate in the sewalong and if you’re bummed out because you can’t get this pattern now’s your chance! Yay!
Lori (comments below) stated that Simplicity patterns at Hobby Lobby are 99 cents this week! Does it get any better? Was it not meant to be?
xoxo,
Sunni

Ivalyn "Tee" - I’ll be picking mine up tomorrow!

K-Line - You truly are the sweetest, Sunni.
Lori - I don’t have time to take part in the sew along unfortunatly but if anyone has a Hobby Lobby near them Simplicity patterns are $.99 there this week.
Sara Hoste - Unfortunateley I don’t live in the USA. If you could pick it up for me, that would be very nice. I just have one question concerning this: how much would it cost to send it to Belgium? Thanks!!
liza jane - You are the sweetest! I agree. Also, I just bought mine at Hobby Lobby yesterday for .99.
Claire (aka Seemane) - Poo for me (*feeling very envious right now*)! I’m in the UK and I’ve been looking to buy the pattern – but everywhere over here it looks like it’ll cost around £10-£12 for x1 copy including delivery ($15-$19 USD approx.) – a bit steep price wise

Gunhild Aasen - Dear Sunni. It would be fantastic if you could get me the simplicity pattern and ship it to me. I can by a belt kit in your shop at the same time and reimburse your for the pattern too. Unfortunately, i can’t strictly follow your sewalong because we’re expecting a baby any day now. but GREAT motivation to get into a slim sewingmode in no time
. love your blog and work! Please respond on email.
Gunhild
Claire (aka Seemane) - I think it’s be a bit tricky for Sunni to become personal pattern-shopper for use sewing addicts LOL!
In the UK I found these stores:
http://www.jaycotts.co.uk/acatalog/__Simplicity_Dresses.html (search for 1880 on that page – searching their search box doesn’t turn up the pattern otherwise LOL)

Robyn - What a thoughtful hostess you are! Thank you, but I’m all set. I just received an email from UPS saying they’ve left my fabric on the front porch. FAST shipping from Michael Levine (lowpricefabric.com).
Robyn - I looked online, and it’s about $17 US to mail a small flat envelope to Belgium the least expensive way. That’s about what I pay to have StyleArc patterns mailed to me here in the US from Australia. (It’s actually less…)
Maybe Sunni has a special postage calculator, or an “in” with the mail man.
Juliet - I am so nerdy but I actually dreamt about there being a sale on Simplicity 1880 and fighting with people to get it! My brain must have been triggered when I paired fabric and buttons from my stash together for the shirt-waist dress.

Michelle - Ok that tipped the balance, I’m in! Just need to find some fabric now. I’m going for the wrap dress. Off to look at fabric stash and those awesome discounts you got going on!
Julie - I was on the fence about participating but your news pushed me along! Don’t know yet if I’ll be able to sew along in real time, but at least now I’ve got the pattern for a great price. Thanks for the tip (and for hosting)!

Nikki - Oh, I’d so love to take part! The postage to New Zealand will be a bit steep methinks. Looks like a Saturday queuing in Spotlight! Or ordering my own from t’Interweb. Mind you, I’ve a pile of other things to make, so perhaps I might just have to give up on this sew-a-long

Juliet - You totally should join in – I’m in NZ as well and have found that sewingpatterns.com have pretty good shipping rates and it’s still much cheaper than buying from Spotlight etc. Be nice to have a kiwi sewist join me!

barbara - that is so sweet of you sunni!
i actually bought the pattern at patternreview.com literally minutes before your post came up! the postage to europe was $11, if anyone is still looking. fast deliver, too. however, the pattern is the original price, not discounted. i had tried simplicity directly, but their postage rate to europe is ridiculous.
but now i’m all set, hooray!
