2-in-1 Sewalong Party! You’re Invited!

I’m so excited to be announcing a party for this particular sewalong. Are you guys ready to rock and roll? So here’s how its going to go down.

This will be a virtual party. I do wish this could be a real party where we all met up together in real life wearing our dresses and had cocktails and fun, but unfortunately that’s not possible. To do this, we’ll be meeting back here on Thursday (July 19) for the Shirt Dressers and Friday (July 20) for the Wrap Dressers. I’ll be posting about my finished creations and then you guys can add comments and links in your comments about where your dress is located on the web, ie blog post, flickr photo, burda style account, pattern review account, etc. Make sense?

Don’t have your dress quite finished? No biggie! You can add a comment link later on down the road and there’s always the flickr group to add to as well.

Are you guys ready to party? Yay! I’m getting a little antsy to show you my dresses, that’s for sure! I’m pretty tickled with both of them! Here’s a little sneak peek at my shirt dress:

All finished! Yay! OK, ladies! Meet me back here on Thursday and Friday for some 2-in-1 sewalong fun!

  • anto - sounds fun! I wish I had joined the sewalong. will there be another one soon?ReplyCancel

    • Sunni - I don’t see another sewalong in my future very soon! Even though they are really fun, they are a lot of work to do! I’ve got a very busy fall season coming up, so I might consider doing another one next year some time. We’ll see! Thanks for asking though!ReplyCancel

  • Emily - I love your shirtdress!! The collar is awesome and the buttonholes are fabulous!ReplyCancel

    • Sunni - Why thank you! I’m a serious contrasting thread color for buttonholes lover! He he!ReplyCancel

  • Sveta - Oh! I haven’t sew any shirt dress or wrap one! Only some simple!ReplyCancel

  • Katy - Your dress looks wonderful. I look forward to seeing them all.ReplyCancel

    • Sunni - Oh Thank you! I look forward to showing them both to everyone!ReplyCancel

  • Tee - Hi everyone,

I finished my shirt dress and posted pics on the flicker group. I can’t make the party Thursday (ASG meeting and the Project Runway returns). I don’t miss Project Runway for anything! The sew along was fun and motivating! Look forward to seeing pics and reading the comments. Take care Sunni, thanks for doing this!!!!!ReplyCancel

  • Sassy T - I really enjoyed the sewalong, even though I wasn’t participating, I learned so much. Hope you do one once a year with different types of garments, they are so educational. Even if it’s just a knit top. Fabulous to observe. Thanks.ReplyCancel

  • Kate - I can’t wait to see your dresses, I absolutely LOVE everything you make. Wish I could have joined in, hopefully next time!ReplyCancel

  • oonaballoona - erm…. can i come to the party if your sew-a-long motivated me to finish my already 90% done wrap dress???? i’ve had this pattern hanging on my sewing room door for weeks & this made me fix the front waist! 🙂 CHEATER!!!ReplyCancel

    • Sunni - He he! That’s just fine with me! Definitely join us! Yay!ReplyCancel

  • Emily - Sunni thank you so much for doing this! I am so excited to see everyone’s finished dresses, and even though I wasn’t able to play along this time I’m excited to use your incredible posts to help me out when I do make it. (I have this fabulous floral rayon print for the fake wrap version, and some white and orange striped seersucker for the shirtdress!)

Cheers & thanks for your lovely blog!!ReplyCancel

  • Rehanon - This is a little bit of a cheat but typically I made this dress and finished it the day I spied the sew a long. I wish I had sewn with you but my Simplicity 1880 has made me super happy. I call it The Ripe Ones Are More Juicy Dress because it’s made in the brightest orange fabric. My camera has died so instead if you check out my blog you’ll see my first attempt at animation with me striking several poses in front of a webcam.

Can’t wait to see everyone’s dresses.
