I realize that V-Day was yesterday and perhaps this post should have gone up then, but I was so excited to finally have photos of my trousers ready that I held off for one more day. I mean really, when we talk about holidays, they should be week long, possibly even month long celebrations. Valentine’s Day, though a small sort of random holiday, is a good time to remind ourselves that it is, indeed, alright that we give ourselves a little love. And I do hope this is something that you do everyday of the year and not just once a year.
I’m a big treat person. Oh my goodness, if you only knew. The cavities for such a lovely bite of chocolate. Or, one of my favorites, See’s Licorice Medallions. Something that Mr. S won’t touch, so I get to have the entire bag to myself. I can make myself sick with these. I have absolutely no self control when it comes to treats. And so it was that See’s was our first stop on a small trip to the mall for a bit light shopping.
We had to stop by Hot Dog on a Stick. he he he. And then Mr. S treated me again to some perfect red shoes, which you may already be aware of from my Facebook page. Yes, these are mine. And all for $25. A bit of steal since they were originally $80. I’ve been hankering for a pair of red patent leather shoes for some time now. These were perfect. Perfect color. Perfect fit. Perfect heel height. Perfect shape. I find that a good red shoe can go with nearly anything.
Mr. S was my Valentine this year. He usually is which is rather wonderful as he does make an awfully good one. I’m rather keen on him. Sigh… I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day and I do hope that if you didn’t have a Valentine, that you were one for yourself. And if you weren’t, its not too late! Go and treat yourself to something special (candy or other), just for you.
And Hip Hip Hooray! Let’s give it up to Alessa of farben-freude.blogspot.com for winning the Simple Abundance book giveaway. Everyone’s comments were very inspiring and yes, I read through every single one. If you have time, go back and read through them yourself and let your spirit be inspired. They were all so good that I decided to use the random number generator to pick the winner as I could have picked everyone if I could. Alessa, you will thoroughly enjoy this book, I think, please email me with your address and I’ll send it out post haste! And for those of you still interested in the book, check out your local thrift store first. It might be lurking there, uncracked and like new, just for you!
